What is Test and Tag?
Test and Tag is the process of checking the safety of electrical appliances. It involves two parts – a visual inspection of the appliance or equipment for any damage, and the second part includes the electrical testing of the appliance or equipment with a PAT device.
Industries such as construction, demolition and mining are required to have their appliances tested and tagged every 3 months. The reason behind it is simple – the heavy wear and tear nature of the industry which provides an environment where equipment is more likely to be damaged at a faster rate, then that of an office.
